Fitting a CT20 (surf turbo) to a 2.8D Hilux - Assistance plz Sat, 20 August 2005 08:35 Go to next message
I got hold of a CT20 turbo and manifold today and am looking at fitting it to my 2.8D Hilux.

From my research so far I know the following:
1. the water lines hook up to the heater hoses (no idea where/how)
2. the oil intake line connects to the Oil sender unit with a T peice of some sort
3. The oil drain can connect to the alternator oil return with a t peice?

Is there anyone around Brisbane Southside that has done this that could offer some assistance or let me check out their engine bay so I can get a better idea on what I need to do? Or send me some pics of the connections..

you should probably google for some basics in turbo fitting...

you wont be able to do this yourself (if the manifold fits) if youre asking the questions.. essentially your egoing to add the turbo in series to a coolant path, and you will also need to add the oil to it too, teeing out of something that has good pressure -- like teh oil filter (use a relocation kit ) and then dump it back somewhere (dip stick/sump.

also youll need a dump pipe made to connect to ya original exhaust, and also pipe work for the compressor to intake.

Yes it will fit up , its easy , just bolt it all on , u get the oil from the alternator supply line but u cant use the alt return line for the turbo drain ,its to small , u will have 2 remove the sump and weld in a return pipe . u dont have 2 hook up the water but it is recomended.
