why do the japs get all the extremely nice looks celicas?
dont people over here look after them?
|
australia also got nice celicas.. when new.. but in japan there were more of them, and some were looke dafter, but all the shit ones get crushed..
people in australia don't take care of their cars, and drive them harder/faster.. traffic in japan, and the roads layout means that it's mostly stop-start....
so is anyone actually going to buy one and then have it shipped over?
you haev to register to be able to bid. you have to fill in details, and pay something like $20 to have a confirmation letter sent to your address. then you pay a monthly fee to be able to bid.

Yes. Not sure exactly when, but I'm after another RA25 (or TA27).
I want one so I can do some mods to it - nice engine, better brakes... all that jazz. That way I have two RA25's. One is stock and looks like it just rolled out of the Toyota factory and the other is nasty and modded. Best of both worlds.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I did a currency conversion on the blue GT TA22 Celica (which I wish was mine) - 1,344,000 yen converts to $16,120.34 AUS plus about $4000 shipping thats $20000 grand plus !!!
I think I will still hold my breath and keep looking locally.
Cool sight though, I will still keep checking it out.

Well you can buy these cars and import them under the pre-1989 rule using people like ImportBitz... but dont waste his time!!
Here's a quick tip:
Take the price of the car in Yen on the auction, divide by 80, add $6000-8000, and then you are coming CLOSE to the cost of the car on the road and registered here in Australia.... maybe....
Basically old cars arent worth buying from Japan unless you find someone stupidly selling the most mint example at half the normal price.
