18rgeu engine parts Sun, 21 August 2005 07:16 Go to next message
I have just put together my 18rgeu and was wondering what some of the parts are on the engine. I have an aftermarket computer so i have a new wiring loom.
At the end of the fuel rail is a devise with a bleed valve on it. Where does that connect to? I will try and attach some pictures of other parts that i am unsure about.
Any help would be appreciated.

what end of the fuel rail? is it on top or underneath. if its underneath at the fan end then its the inlet. no bleeder there. if its at the gearbox end and underneath its the regulater and if its ontop at the fan end its where the cold start injecter would have been. im guessing you didnt build the engine if you no nothing about it.

if you are so smart then you would know that at the gearbox end underneath is a bleed valve on the regulater and that is what i was asking about. Next time dont bother posting a reply if you have nothing good to post!

I thought this site was designed for people to get information not to get smart arse comments.

ok then smart ass. 2 things. firstly if you know its a bleed valve which usually means to bleed something out, why the hell are you asking where it goes. obviously its goes nowhere because its just to bleed with. and secondly are u sure its not just a vacuum line. i think it is and it prolly goes to the manifold where most vacuum lines go.

that would be manifold vacuum reference for the Fuel Pressure Regulator - if it's a small tube on the back of the device

rail should have three conections (fuel in, cold-start injector and FPR on the exit) - apart from the injectors.

cheers,
Charles.

this thread contains a couple of pictures of my vaccuum lines on my engine (in the hunt for trying to work out why it didn't cold start idle which ended up being the complete lack of an idle control valve)

if you look at the second to last picture it shows the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator, there is indeed a vaccuum line as people100 stated, that goes into the manifold via a 'T' piece that also breaks off to the vaccuum advance/retard on the distributor (although i have been led to believe this may not be the correct dizzy internals so ignore that bit).
the main thing is the line goes from the regulator to the manifold though (follow the yellow lines)

hope it helps ya matey
cheers
barnsey
