i am considering putting a 20v motor into my car, i am wondering what gearbox fits this motor to make it rwd (and strong also)or if it came out in cars as a rwd motor, and what way i should aim.
A celica t50 will fit with an A series bellhousing, but I think this way the input shaft has the wrong number of splines.
You can use a sprinter/ae71 t50 and change the shifter housing I believe.
Or I guess you could go for a w5x and figure out an A series bellhousing for it. This is going to be the stronger box obviously.
FWD 20v's have the dizzy facing the firewall, which needs to be sorted somehow - there are several options. Other than that I believe the intake manifold may also hit the firewall, but a RWD manifold can take it's place. Then there's routing of water lines etc. Do a search, it's been covered before!
