3sge Generation's ??	Sun, 21 August 2005 10:38

Hi, how do you tell what generation 3sge engines are? What FWD g/box do they come with and what aussie car came with a 3sge gen 4? Thanks [Report message to a moderator]

i'm a little hazey on this subject but i dont think there is a gen4 3S-GE i think after gen 3 there was a VVTi engine or something like that and then i think it went to the 5S-FE i have my haynes manual here and the engines it covers are... 2S-E 3S-FE 3S-GE 5S-FE 4a-FE 7A-FE granted this is only a celica manual but does give a rough idea on how the engines went. but back to your original question i dont really know how to tell when the generations of 3S-GE's changed but i'm pretty sure there wasnt a 4th gen feel free to point out any mistakes i may have uttered in my rambleings [Updated on: Sun, 21 August 2005 12:58] [Report message to a moderator]

lets guess, im no expert and i bet if i searched id figure this out but... gen4/beams came in altezza's and to work out what gen you dhave a good try would be what year it came no ideadia about the box.. e153 for fwd? haha im no help.. but im bored [Report message to a moderator]

none, the gen IV was not put in any aus delivered cars, last 3sge we got was the Gen 111 in the last SW20 MR2's.

gen 1 st162 gen 2 sw20 till oct 93 gen 3 sw20 from late 93 till late 97 gen 4 early 98 in sw20 and st202 this was fwd BEAMS vvti gen 5 Altezza 98 on dual vvti BEAMS current till oct this year [Report message to a moderator]

its a gen 4 same motor as st202 and sw20 vvti ,its just the emissions in the extractors that have been changed plus black top cover instead of it being red [Report message to a moderator]
