Hi guys Smile

On the weekend I pulled out the the 2JZ and trans from an Aristo halfcut and slotted it into my R31. My mates and I are doing all the work ourselves.

Why pay 4.5-5K for a manual RB25DET halfcut when the same shop sells auto 2JZ GTE halfcuts for 3.5K? I will have money left over even after I make the engine mounts and modify the brakebooster and the car actually stands a chance of being quick after the conversion, unlike the RB25 which would merely be brisk Wink Very Happy

Problems encountered so far are:

Rear turbo comes too close to the brake booster. I might mount engine to the side a bit and/or fit a smaller diameter booster.

Exhaust Y piece exits directly where the steering shaft is. I can make some custom dump pipes to clear it.

The exhaust is on the wrong side. I might have to limit the exhaust diameter from the turbos to where I have to cross over to the correct side just after the trans. But I have heard this part of the exhaust should not be too big with the standard turbos as the wastegate is too small to prevent overboosting with a large dump pipe.

Mounts, I can just make engine mounts up and modify the R31 gearbox cross member.

The No1 turbo looks pretty dodgy with worn compressor blades. Im not sure what to do with this yet?

Wiring of engine and trans. This is where I was hoping someone here might have an aristo diagram? Can anyone please steer me in the right direction for this?

Any other tips or suggestions would be great too.

Cheers Smile

There has been a few 2JZ turbos for sale, I think they are reasonably cheap cause they arent much good for anything else, check the parts for sale section.

Or you could solve this problem and the brake booster and steering shaft by going single turbo withyour left over money Evil or Very Mad

Yeah I know Cool But I really want to keep it stock for now becuase if I want to do a single conversion I want to do it right with ECU 6BOOST manifold and Garret GT series turbo, rebuilt auto and stall converter. All that will cost HEAPS more than a couple of grand Shocked

dennis, I can get you a good deal on a brand new 600hp turbo, gate and manifold if you are keen, it will bring the price down on the kit I and someone else are looking at...

PM me if you are interested
