Cops not so useless afterall?

Bathurst-91, my girlfriend, and myself were on the balcony the other night when we noticed this dude walking into all the underground communal apartment carparks along the street. It was only 6:30 at night, but it still looked dodgy-as. He'd stay down there for a few minutes, then resurface and proceed to the next block of units. We watched him as he went under the block opposite us, came back up 2 mins later, ripped a stake out of the garden and went back in, emerging 10 mins later with a full backpack on!
I called the freakin' cops at that stage (Bathurst and I were tossing up whether to call them or go tattoo the guy ourselves with a couple of bats).
Sure enough, 5 mins later (not bad, but the station is literally about 15 doors down on the same road!), out comes a big bad-ass German Shepherd and there's one less thieving bastard on the streets.
For everyone who's had shit stolen from their garages or out of their car's, that's one for the good guys!

Should have done this first, then call the cops and say he attacked you when you fronted him.

But the thing is how long was he off the streets for.

I was informed that he has outstanding warrants and that he's well-known to the constabulary, so you never know, he may actually be off the streets for some time indeed. On the other hand, he may be thieving again in no time.
I guess neighbourhood watch does work after all - who would have thought!

When i used to work in retail we used to cop many break ins (no pun intended). Generally they'd come in thru the roof and take shit out that way. The perps were almost always caught on camera and were well known in the area generally though the ones breaking in were kids with older ppl organising it.
There was also plenty of shop lifters that were well known to the cops (adults this time) but generally they never went away.
The best we could do was ban them from the mall and just get security to escort them out if they ever came back in.
Good to see he actually got caught though and fingers crossed he has to do some time to pay for his actions.

good story, but you're the one that deserves the credit. if you hadn't been taking notice then they would have still been back at the station eating donuts.

Yeah, they did thank us quite a lot for calling and genuinely appreciated it which was a nice change to their usual aloof manner.

I have been a victim of this shit ,lost all my tools and they hacked the shit out of my door and boot getting into a car that had no front on it and no motor in it either.
It not really justice for me it's more justice for us all only problem is that he will get a smack on the hand and told not to do it again
Good on you guys for doing your bit we should all keep an eye out for this sort of thing

Nice work with calling the cops man...
Better than beating them up and then to find yourselves in court...

Meh i have had a pretty good run even with cops when i have been driving a car. Friday night coming home from the drifts coming down a hill in an 80kmph, slow down to 55kmph (very straight line as its offset to the other side) for a roundabout go thru, continue driving up road in 70 zone cops flashes lights pulls me over. Get outs comes over, goes can i have your license i say yep give it too him, breath tests me, does a quick once over of the car ie check p-plates, then says don't go thru the roundabout that quick again and says have a nice day.
I don't care i have nothing to hide. I have seen plenty of cops get ppl when they need to get caught ie guys talkign about how they had just stolen stuff loudly on the train next stop cops jump on and drag em off rofl.
Also seen some ppl driving erradically ie speed up slow down speed up again, he managed to pass a cop on his speed up phase at about 150kmph green p-plater in a rolla cap backwards pwned.

you can never tell with these theifs but.
my uncle owns a camera store, and one of the staff guys where serving this old couple, they bought a dvd player, tv, a whole lot of shit, well over 5g's worth.
as the staff guy was re-boxing the tv. the old couple nicked off with what was already packed into bags. a good 3-4grand.
in his excitement and trust, he left the bag of stuff on the counter ready to be put through register. but never got the chance to go through register.
they have also had ram raids, absailers coming down from the roof floor, or the top floor or sumfin like dat. sum how they came down to the 2nd floor and went through the roof of the 1st floor.
they are getting good. great work on catching this guy but. a thumbs up from me.
