	| Wakefield yesterday (Wheel nearly comes off!) | Mon, 22 August 2005 23:00 | | |
	| Hey guys, I went on the track yesterday, had a great time, and for my first outting, and crappy road tyres, I think I did ok. Anyways, when I took my 18" wheels off, for my 16", I threaded one bolt due to those damn tyre mech, with their rattle guns, I had to stand on the tool that takes the nut off, causing it to thread. Only 4 bolts were holding the wheel, but I still continued to race. 3 sessions in, I hear a "knock knock" sound, I pull in, and check the wheel, all the nuts are loose, so I tighten them all up, and call it quits. On the way home, the knocking got worse, pulled over and re tightened the nuts, further down, I pull over again, to find NO wheel nuts on the hub. I found them abour 2m behind the car!! 9Lucky I stopped. This is a lesson, dont race, or even drive, with no nuts!

Exp day for me, with towing from Mittaging to sydney

	| Shane Damn hard luck mate.
You appear to be using the wrong nuts on those wheels though - those wheels take OEM Toyota wheel nuts with a flat washer setup whereas you've got the wear marks of what appears to be aftermarket wheel nuts which are angled as used on many aftermarket wheels.

Good to hear... that engine knows Wakefield well as you know.. it's got a 1.13 around there
... but don't go bragging on here publicly about not running a cat Save yourself some future heartache and run 2 sets of appropriate wheels nuts!

	| changing the studs on an IRS G series rear end is a peice of piss
as you said, remove the rotor and caliper and slide the old ones out, you dont need to remove the hub as there should be a spot so you can slide one stud in at a time...

we found this after we had started removing the hub, lucky we didnt have a hub puller or we would have taken it off completely

	| I did a 1:16.42 as my best time.
Have to say tyres were too narrow (16x6.5 and 205 tyres) the fronts were on the indicators, and on stock boost, no traction even in t hird haha.

	| Very respectable dude, shows what having the same engine in a lighter car does for it Even with shoddy tyres! | |
