hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a problem
we're experiencing with a toyota soarer at work.
Here's the problem....
1.the owner hooked up the battery back to front and tried to jumpstart it.
2. once corrected, wound it over but it wouldn't fire.
3. its switching at the coils (getting power)
4. we have tested the crank-angle sensor at the computer side and getting correct responses from it.
5. sent the computer to be tested and it's ok.
6. signal to the injectors is weak
basically, it won't start and we have no information about these vehicles whatsoever.
if someone can help out it would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS

Sounds like the amplifiers for the injectors in the ecu. But if you say it checks out fine its a bit strange. When they checked it did they load the injector outputs up or just check to see if they are triggering. They might not be able to handle a real physical load like the injectors.
How you checked the resistance of the injectors? What do they read?
BTW it wont be the ignitor if you say your coils are triggering. Dont waste time there, your on the right track with fuel.

Dumb but....
Gone through all the breakers and fuses, I mean actually checked with a meter, not just look ok?, and checked the operation of the ciruit opening relay. It would stop fuel. (it may also stop other things your already saying work but)
I started a car once without the large ground connected to the engine, and the current went back to ground through a small part of the loom, and welded a relay closed.
Took me a week to find.

Good change ur fuel ecu is blown try this out....
Is it possible to by-pass a faulty fuel pump control circuit (ECU) in order to get home?
The fuel pump can be forced to operate in the high voltage setting by placing a jumper in the engine diagnostics connector between FP and +B terminals (for location of terminals see the label inside the diagnostics connector cover). A straightened up paper clip can be used as a jumper but must be inserted very deep in the terminals. This function is useful for checking that the fuel pump is not faulty (it can be heard running with the ignition on) and also to make the car mobile in case the fuel pump ECU is faulty. We strongly advise against driving the car for prolonged periods with the jumper inserted as the current draw of the pump in its high setting is about 7.3A and the pump may not have been designed to handle the load permanently and may overheat and seize, creating more (expensive) problems. At idle and under light loads the engine may be running rich due to increased fuel pressure.
Good luck.

Fuel pressure is set by the regulator isn't it bounty so matter what the pump is flowing the regulator sets the pressure anyway?
You shouldn't get richer af's at light loads?
