18rg cams! How big is too big??? Tue, 23 August 2005 09:54 Go to next message
What are the best size cams to put in an 18RG so that it still has revability.
It was suggested to stick to the 288 duration.

Standard cams will still rev up.

It is not a question of how well it revs but where in the rev range you want the peak torque and power and how much torque and power you want to produce.

Is the car an everyday driver or a track only car...

Answer these questions and people can give you better responses.

When I had mine, I had some Waggot ground cams, and they were 45-75-70-50. Don't know the duration and can't remeber the lift, but these cams worked well in conjunction with extractors, 9.7:1 pistons and 36mm chokes in the Solex carbies.

Cheers
