well thats about it does it matter what gear a dyno is run in? and do different gears give different results

you want to run it in the gear that gives you 1:1 ratio, or closest too... usually 4th gear in a manual car.

Baaaaaaaaarp, incorrect

You need to run it so that the dyno is at its most accurate.

For instance, dyno dynamic dyno's are most accurate with the rollers spinning from 100-140kph.
So most manuals are done in 3rd.

In theory you should get an almost identical reading when done in 4th though.

at the toymods dyno day at SAS pretty much all manual cars were run in 4th gear, but with the new software it shouldn't matter anyway. This topic was discussed in detail after the dyno day in a thread started by RAV GT4, in the tech section.

nope that all the info i wanted. i have been told both ways and wanted clarification. and what do you search??? i tried but only got people say "how good was it on the dyno"
