Look at the number on the head. It'll be something like 88253. The first two numbers will be 88. Tell us that number and we'll figure it out for you.

The number Stamped on the head is 11111 - 88253
How do you work it out? do you have history papers or something?

i think the 88250 is the early small valve head, if it has 88260
then its the later model large valve head, im not sure, i might be getting confused with the T series motors.

From everything I have read the efi 18rg's... 18rgeu's had the biggest valves.

88253 is a carby head. I have all the details in my toolbox at work. 88270 is the 18R-GEU head. You can tell what each head is by the 2xx bit. And Juzzo, I think you're quoting 2T-G numbers.

not sure if this helps but the 88253 head has
45mm intake vaklves and
38.5mm exhaust valves.
Are these the largest that came in stock 18rg's?
This head is supposed to come with the rather complex and hard to pull apart and rebuilt late model carbies with the extra vacuum take-off point from the side of the rearmost throat.
