To anyone who has put Koni's in an MA61, any chance you could share what part number you used front and back? I haven't had a lot of luck with catalogues etc. so far...

My usual parts place told me they'd been discontinued. Can anyone confirm this?

I'd imagine you'd need to go off and install koni's designed for other cars, like the SW20 rears can be put up front with spacers.

I installed Yellow sports adjustables on my car.
On the fronts I used RAV 4 ones, and they needed only a small washer at the bottom of the strut tube (I used RA60 strut tube as well).
On the rears I used MA70 rears, but they required a bit of work to make them fit. I had to install a spherical bearing in the bottom, and the top shock bolt is bigger on the MA70 vs the MA61.
Have a look in my members ride thread, there are some pics in there.

I think the MX73 shares the same rear shock - check with CrUZsida.
From the Monroe catalogue, the AE86 rears have similar dimensions, and some in the States have used a BMW rear as well as a Mustang one, but I don't know the availability of them.
Ed_MA61 has used some Bilsteins in the rear of his, but not sure what other cars they suited.
Cheers

Is that fronts or rears ?
It is probably the low spec red's rather than the sport yellows like mine.
All my enquiries (and I enquired a lot) said that there were none availiable/listed in Aus, but that the smarter distributors worked out an equivalent.

No idea was just searching the whiteline online store, thats all that is listed doesn't say front or rears, maybe someone could give em a ring to find out. I'd pop into their HQ 5 mins from my house but its only open weekdays.

Wish I would have known that (as well as the suppliers).
Interestingly, I wonder if they are available in Yellow Sports, and what the respective damping rates are ?

AE86 is same as solid axcel A6 (I think), but is a lot shorter (like 3" IIRC) than the IRS shocks. Up front, rear sw20 mr2s work with a spacer, amoung heaps of other things. Fronts are easy, there are heaps of options.
I'm planning on using S13 rears in mine, I have a pair here and will taking out a stock shock & comparing if anyone is interested in pics.
If you want to spend a bit of money, you can buy a set of KYB Super Specials (externally adjustables, like KYB AGX) for about a grand delivered IIRC.
