TRC reliance is integrated into some factory 1JZGTE ECUs, so it will depend on what ECU or vintage 1JZGTE you are using - aftermarket ECUs will of course not give a rats wether the butterly is there or not.
There are also non-TRC equipped 1JZGTE throttle bodies you could use if you wanted to avoid the cut/shut option.

According to Mr Shin, an XF throttle doesn't QUITE bolt up - it's close, but no cigar. You'll need to weld up two of the bolt holes and re-tap them, then make sure you carefully port the inside of the manifold to match the throttle.

Personally I wouldn't bother changing it unless you were also changing the plenum...

Not until you're making near on 400rwkw according to Japanese tuners - I guess that's why there aren't many Japanese bolton upgrades for plenum and throttle body.

Yeah I couldn't imagine it being a decent restriction! I think it is pretty large as it is!

400rwkw is pretty serious power Smile

Cheers
