hey all,
Im currnetly planning a TA22 restoration + modification, and was wondering what the options are for engine an transplant.
Had in mind a SR20DET although these are abit expensive, im told it will fit without too much modification, basically just the mounts. Looking for somthing with a similar power output, but less harsh on the wallet.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

What about the 3SGTE? Toyota's very own sr20det, although some would well consider it the better of the two, due to its cam to valve interface... I think.

i beleive there is alot of work involved in converting a 3sgte into rwd configuration as they all were fwd...
The sr20 would be kick ass i know its not toyota and they dont really like to rev but there is a huge aftermarket support for these engines and they can make big power on standard bottom ends

i know of a guy in wollongong who used an old
cressida twin turbo, but i do like the availability
and relative cheapness of parts for the sr20's
