2T evaluation

I have a 2T here in the shed that was fully rebuilt a little while ago which I may consider selling if I can get the right price!
The thing is I dont know what they are worth!
The block was rebored and acid dipped, head was fully deburred and acid dipped, cam and crank were machined and balanced, new ACL pistons and rings, new bearings and has a new webber carby fitted win an adaptor plate! Runs very smoothly and is very efficient!
Can anyone give me a rough guesstimate what it is worth?
Thanks.

I payed $800 for my fully rebuilt one Cool1 - it had been worked over headwise and pistons/bore wise as well
If you could get 700 or so for yours ( i guess the cams stock or mild? ) youd be doing good .
as for 2t's in the bin - Wayne - you just dont appreciate them enough .. Their still one of the best , most reliable toyota motors ever built. Might not be the most powerful but ive never heard of one throwing a piston thru the side , or detonating into a ball of shrapnel ..
they are perfect for their job - and have a tonne of potential in the right hands ..

imho any toyota motor is reliable
i might not appreciate them much becuase i have had the unfortunate experience of having owned a few and was most dissapointed
there a a shitload of 'better' and much newer designed motors out there which arnt the old single cam pushrod design and make a whole lot more power STOCK than a 2t ever could when worked

maybe i am jealous !!
all i have is a 1uzfe, 2 2tg's and a 2tg/3tg hybrid with a turbo strapped to the side
but id swap the 1uz for a 3sgte anyday, it would make my job a lot easier to put it into a ta22 !!

Thanks Stuart, The cam was re-ground to give it just a little more poke but nothing to jepodise the effiency and smoothness of the engine(apparently)!
I would be happy with $700 seeing I spent waaay more than that on it!
So does anyone what a 2T? Could see it running if need be

I was nearly not going to reply to this but i thought that i better stand up for what i believe in and say "2T ALL THE WAY"
i have a 2t in my celica, they are reliable and tuff, you can give it heaps and it wont break, i just drive the shit out of it and its all good in the end. Im not saying that 2tg's are no good. I just think for the age of the motor (minus the timing chain rattle) its a little beauty.

im glad your cdams that way - sounds a lot milder than mine - i having to have the distributer totally regraphed and balanced to suit the bastard pig cam - and a head thats had more work on it than a psychiartrists teenage daughter - but hey - when your playing with a 3/4 racing cam ( about the closest youll get to a full raceprepped cam profile for the road in a 2t - legally ) you have you do a little more work around it to make it run semi smooth without shaking the old celica to bits with lumpy-bumpys
a nice mild cammed 2t - with a 32/36 downdraft weber and a good set of extractors would be a great semi pokey street motor IMHO -and seeing cool's is a fresh rebuild - thats a cheap buy for anyone wanting a bit more poke without killing the pocket
( ITS A LOT CHEAPER THAN A REPLACEMENT HPM OR REPCO RECO MOTOR )

Ahh but was the 2tg reconditioned ?
See - still think of things like rings , bearings , valve reseating etc - and youll soon have your 2tg going over a grand ..
his motors basically new - so it is worth the money ..
I still say its a good price - and i know id prefer a new 2t to a clapped out 2tg in need of rebuild if i only had a bit of money to spend ..
