hmmm should still be ok..
do a check and trace the whole power source, make sure your ground is good.
where abouts in sydney are you?
if your near by bring the headunit with loom and i can test it out for you

Make sure you also check the fuse box that is under the dash on the right hand side of the drivers side of the car.

Check ground, acc and +12v with a multimeter.

i'd be checking for 12v at the headunit plug, contant and ignition... if you have those go to jb hifi and buy another unit - nad be more careful!
otherwise install it in something other than a sprinter, sometimes this works,

Yeah it sounds like you blew the fuse in the kick panel on the drivers side, it's a 7.5 or 10 amp fuse, easy fix.
on a side note .. I have found, a 10inch sub in a sprinter is .. well it can deliver pretty insane amounts of bass! too much for me, ha.
