Show 1974 TA22 Celica Thu, 26 December 2002 05:30 Go to next message
A real attention getter - which is why I'm getting rid of it. Some damage due to random acts of mindless vandalism (a couple of scratches, a missing number plate etc). Not much to do to bring her back up to show standard but the fun's gone out of it for me.

It's had a full rebuild which finished last January - after which it did a tour of Summernats 15 - She's done 13,000Kms since the build.

Body
----
Paint : Bellflower Blue
Mods :
- all chrome removed or blacked out
- exterior door and boot locks removed (remote central locking)
- cable boot release

Wheels & Tyres
--------------
- Simmons 16x7 custom 3-piece
- 205/40 tyres (roughly 80% tread)

Suspension
----------
- K-mac kit (2" drop)
- camber/castor adjustable strut caps
- Whiteline adjustable panhard rod.

Engine
------
- 2TG-EU rebuilt standard
- Gas Research performance LPG fuel system

Interior
--------
- Full (yellow/purple) leather trim
- Scheel seats
- custom door trims and centre console
- Momo pedals,
- Momo "jetfighter" wheel and gear knob

Audio
-----
- 10 speaker sound system
- Alpine CD head unit (motorised swing face, remote, aux input)
- 2 pairs Alpine DD-Drive 6.5" splits up front
- 2x Rockford Fosgate 15" subwoofers in custom neon lit boot
enclosure
- 6-channel Rockford amp (6x75W)
- 2-channel Rockford amp (2x200W)
- 1000mF stiffening capacitor
- Oddysey 1000 sealed gel battery
- Custom 120Amp alternator
- power : last measurement produced 137dB on music tracks (if
bleeding eardrums is what you're into then you can tune the
amps for a good deal more than that)

Other
-----
- working air conditioning
- Flashpoint car alarm (incl ultransonic)
- external battery recharge point

General comments
----------------
In general she's very tidy but needs some TLC. In its current state it's a show pony rather than a speed demon but then I built it around the sound system.

Price
-----
$7,000 or near offer

Guys, this car is exeptional.....ALOT of time and money has gone into it, alot more than the $7000 asking price.

It would be the ideal car to get......

Damn, knew I should have waited before I bought the RA28!!!

Good luck with the sale

No beef with chrome as such... just some colours don't look great with chrome trims. There is a little chrome on the car (door handles and wheel outers) and it's enough to set it off without becoming the focal point. Plus it looks a little different Smile

Chris, thanks for letting us look -very nice car with lots of effort gone into it. Elise was in love with it but couldnt see it getting destoyed parking it at council every day. Good luck with the sale.

To potential buyers Very Happy : This is an awesome comfy mobile stereo with BRIGHT Mutha F@#*er interior and why worry about an engine swap, its got about 13,000kms on a new LPG 2TGEU.

Anyway you can fit a 1GGTE into these... its not hard. 3SGTE would be better though.

Dave - thanks for the write-up dude Smile

masta - no rust.. as far as reasons for selling and damage, it's all in the ad pretty much. No accident damage but a few minor scrapes courtesy of a few friendly neighbourhood f*ckwits. Essentially this thing has cost me a *packet* and I'm tired of spending money on it :[

Nothing missing - engine needs a tune but that's about it. I have dyno figures somewhere around for it if you have any doubts about the LPG.

trust me guys, this thing is nice, i've seen it a few times and couldn't help myself to sneak up and have a peak at it while it was parked in the carpark. It's how it looks in the pics, they aren't concealing any hidden faults or anything. I wish i didn't just spend big bucks on getting my bare shell seam wealded and mini-tubbed...

pity about the colour?!? Lol - I guess it's not to everyone's taste... I like the jellybean look :-)

re vandalism : some bugger souvenired the front number plate, another gave it a key job.. not too bad but annoying nonetheless. I guess you're not the only one who didn't like the colour :/
