A) You'll never find a 6MGE ecu (very very very rare)
B) You'll need a late 5MGE harness and sensors
C) Just use a late 5MGE ecu too.

Hey,
I was at a Pick A Part in Auckland, NZ, on the weekend. There was a MS125 Crown there with a 6M-GEU in it there. It was auto. Would that ECU suit you? I could go back up this weekend and if it's still there I could buy it if your interested. I'll find out how much Pick A Part sell them for.
Cheers
Mike.

Wow, thats a super rare find.
NegativeBoost, get this man to grab the whole loom, dizzy, TPS, ecu, maybe ignitor.
The rest should be the same as the locally delivered 5MGE Cressida's.

Sorry guys i've taken a while to get back to you.
myk00l - I'm interested, I'd like some prices first though please before you buy anything. Ask them how much for the whole loom, dizzy, TPS, ecu and ignitor. Thanks
Cruzsida - Cheers, i didn't know that i would need everything else. I was looking for a quick and easy way to rise my current rev limit from 6400 up to 7+ which ive heard of others runningon their 6M-GE. Obviously its not that easy as swapping the ecu's over, ah well i was hopeful. I'm also swapping in a 7M later this year so depending on how much it'd cost for all the 6M-GE gear, i'll wait out untill dingaling wants to hand over his engine
thanks guys
Sam

My MX73 5MGE ecu had no rev limit on it.
I took the poor 6M well over 7000 on many occasions, and the record would have been 7600 or so.

And you only need all that stuff if you go from 5M-E to gen2 5MGE or 6MGE.
5M-E and gen1 5MGE run all the same sensors/electronics.
gen2 5MGE (locally delivered MX73 5MGE's) have more advanced electronics, and ecu.
You can't use a gen2 5MGE ecu (or 6MGE ecu for that matter) on 5M-E electronics.
I only suggested getting all those parts because I believe they could be different to 5MGE gear.

Oh okay. So i'd need a gen1 5M-GE ecu if i was to be lazy and just swap over the ecu's. Otherwise i'd need 5M-GE/6M-GE electronics and have to labour to get swap it all. Not something i could be really be bothered with, especially since i'll be getting a new engine soon.
I didn't do the 5-ME to 6M-GE conversion on my car and hearing that other peoples 6M-GE engines run 7+ (yours cruzsida!) and mine only goes to 6400, i thought the ecu would be the bottle neck.
Thnx for your help

You don't make any power past 6000 so its kinda pointless.
And wet weather + no rev limiter is kinda dangerous.
