Afternoon all,

I've tried the search but come up empty handed.

When checking compression and leakdown on the air to air 3SGTE, will the intercooler be the only item I need to remove? what size spark plug socket should I be using?

Thanks in advance all!

Why would you remove the intercooler?

My 1j uses a regular 5/16 IIRC. Have you got a compression tester, leakdown tester and an air compressor?

When doing leak down test make sure the cylinder is at exactly TDC with a screwdriver or something in the spark plug hole (carefully). If it is a tiny bit off, you will get a weird number.

Aah gotcha. Seems quite abnormal to have an intercooler in the engine bay these days Smile

Of course, as far as I'm aware, WRXs still use top mounts, as well as ST215 Caldinas in Japan.
