4age 16v fuel economy in ae82

Hi,
Just wondering what the acceptable fuel economy figures should be for a stock 16v 4age (88kw) in an ae82?
I seem to be getting no better than 10L per 100k with ordinary daily driving. Worse if I'm driving it hard.
I thought I used to actually get better economy when the same engine was in the mr2 - approx 100kg heavier?
Any particular things people can suggest that might be making it bad, or allow for improvement? EGR system?(which i've removed) ignition timing? AFM adjustment?
cheers,
Adam.

I get about 10 from my AE82 4AG in a KE70, generally treated to a pretty heavy foot all the time.

hmmm, seems like 10L per 100km is kind of ordinary anyway.
I just wish I had a more efficient daily driver with all the fuel prices these days.
