ok i have fully read all the conversion tutorials about 100 times, can some one explain on how to get the 18r mounts to fit up to the 1g?
i know you have to use the most front mounting wholes but the dip stick appears to be in the way on one side and what looks like to be a oil return from the turbos on the other.
i like ddeans idea of mounting the mounts upside down so i wont need a spacer etc, but the mounts dont appear to line up
here are some pics.
also which mount do i use on each side?
feel free to draw all over them to explain it
you can email me edited copies

From what I remember, Phill (TRACTION_ISSUES) used a spacer with the 18R mounts. Well, his previous engine was an 18R AFAIK...

from what I remember, fabricated engine mounts was the way to go with that conversion. it'll probably cost you a pretty penny, unless you can contact knacker's mechanic, and get him to make you up some mounts at the same time. that way it would cost you almost nothing, as all the measurements would already have been made.

Dude, you need the mounts off of a 1gge, they have fabricated-type mounts instead of the cast ones that came with the 1GGTE. the 1GGE mounts look like the 18R mounts, but with 4 holes to bolt them to the engine. these fit with a little drilling...then bolt (with a spacer or upside down or whatever) then onto the engine cross member.
I don't think you can get the 18R mounts to fit without some heavy mods...

I think that you are making this harder than what it is. Just give me a ring and I will talk you through it. It really is quite simple with the bits that you have!

While I think of it. Wot type of mounts did you motor come with. If the engine was out of a supra it will have iron pressed brackets. However if it is from a sourer it will have the cast alloy mounts. If this is the case you do have some problems. It might pay to get onto Dylo - try the ACT thread ans he had some of the supra ones fabricated. Have a look at the conversion article as this will show you what they look like. Otherwise start checking out the importers.

yeah craig has the rear mounted cast alloys.
his was out of a 1988 supra, my one was also a 1988 supra and it had rear mounted steal fabricated mounts, which only need slight modification to mount in the forward position, but becuse I'm a retard I slightly stuffed it and had to modify both 'feet' to the mounts.
