toyota 4ac workshop manual Wed, 31 August 2005 13:57 Go to next message
Hey guys,

Was wondering where i'd beable to find a 4ac workshop manual.
I looked through the tech docs but only found a 'hard to read' wiring diagram for the ae86, and also at my local libary that only has the haynes toyota collora 92+ models with the 4afe.

I'm at the moment stripping down my carby on the 4ac which came out of the sprinter.
I was having problems with the car as it runs really rough when the car warms up and the auto choke is fully open during load.
It'll run rough as hell and would die out and have major backfiring.
Checked and replaced the points and condensor. Reset the timing. checked the advance mechancism and vacumm advance. All was well. Coil is new. So i figure it has to be the fuel system if it's not the electrical system.
the autochoke works fine, but I'm unsure about the idle shutoff solenoid.
Checked with a battery hooked up and it clicks but it doesn't look like the valve or needle moves but i was thinking that i shouldn't even beable to start the car if this wasn't working.
hmm...

anyways any help on the manual would be heaps of help! thank you!

I got one of the gregory's ones from a second had book store for 15bucks. you can get them from super cheap new for like 40.
It covered all the stuff I needed to know about stripping the carby (when I had one).

Just a word of warning, don't take everything in them as 100% perfect, as some of the stuff is not exact, (like the position of the power piston). but otherwise they are fine

Have fun
