Warning Beep - Holden Service is baffled!

Hi all
Could someone shed some light on this problem? I have a 2005 Astra Equipe (1.8L). Being an Equipe, it has ABS, Traction Control, cruise, and power windows. This is not the new shape, but the one that's been around since 1998.
Yesterday, I was waiting for my wife with engine off but keys in ignition (switched to off), listening to a CD. A loud, continuous beep came from under the dash & lasted for about 45 seconds and then stopped. It's of the same pitch as the 'door open' beep, but twice as loud. During the time it was beeping, I tried everything: I started the engine & stopped it, opened and closed doors, played with the stereo . . . Nothing helped.
I started driving straight to Holden Service and on the way, it did it again. Holden took a look and seemed puzzled. They didn't even seem to be aware that there was any other kind of warning beep installed on the car! Hooking it up to their computer, there was no problem found. While beeping, there were no dash warning lights.
As I'm writing, I'm wondering . . . could it have been coming, not from an under-dash beeper, but from the stereo - a malfunction in the stereo itself?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Mark.

A good place to try would be the forums at http://www.opelaus.com, they have a dedicated Astra section there and someone may have had the same problem and could give you some advice.
I don't visit there anymore (my ex has an Astra so that's why I was a member) but they are a nice bunch of people and I'm sure someone will help you if they can.
Hope that helps,
Matt

Yeah, but it is a TOYOTA forum. Not a holden one, let alone a bloody Astra.
IMHO, ask a really dumb question, expect that type of answer. I agree with Norbs !!!!

you mean the parts swappers couldnt fix it,sorry i mean dealer mechanics{the large majority couldnt find a problem with the engine mounts unless the engine dropped to the floor.)prob have an 8 hour training video of how to replace the water in the washer bottle, and still stuff it up. i would imagine not knowing the astra's beside using there electric power streering pumps and racks on the race cars, that its a key in ignition doors locked kind of thing.but could also be a holden dealer mechanic with in ten feet of the car warning.
