depending on the distance you are away with the shot gun you'll a shoot them all and b blow the branch off

I am sticking with my 10. If it's a riddle, then you can't take into account the feelings of the birds and how they will react. It's simple numbers.
Otherwise it's just a question. What happens when a bird hears a noise?

I would keep standing there... I think the fact that you weren't the one that was shot proves that where you were standing is reasonably safe.

I think Jorrs meant the answer. He regrets comitting suicide because he was deaf. He heard the phone so as he jumped off he realised he was in fact not deaf so he comitted suicide for no reason.

that makes no fucking sense whatsoever. he heard his phone as he was jumping off the building, and that was the first thing he EVER heard? so he only just got his hearing as he jumped off the building? he didnt hear the wind, or cars, or any sort of sound, like his foot steps or breathing before he heard the phone? as he jumped off the roof?
