AE86 Battery flashing light problem

Hey all,
I have a problem with my car. The problem is that on start up or within a period of 10 minutes or driving my charge light in the console keeps flashing with a clicking noise where the battery is located under the bonnet. The clicking noise is dependant on my speed. The faster I go the faster the clicks. I hope someone could shed some light on this problem.
Note: It does not effect the drivability of the car what so ever and that after a short period of time driving this problem stops and the charge light stops flashing.
Thanks

Wouldnt be surprised if it is your alternator. Mine had same problem and symptoms very similar except for the clicking noise! New alternator cost me $220 and nice and easy coz my mate threw it in for me but there isnt much to it!

Moreover,
Just relised that my right blinker flashers real fast compared to the left blinker. Could this also be relate to the alternator?

Hi,
On some cars (like mine) you need to make sure all your indicator bulbs are the same wattage. For some reason if I have a different one then the boka will make one side indicate faster than the other side. Sometimes a blown globe will also make the boka go crazy.
It could be your battery but I doubt it 'cos if the battery is suspect then you'd have a hard time starting the car, running the engine, headlights, etc. These items suck heaps more power than your boka.

PS: When I say "boka" I'm referring to that thing in your car that goes "boka boka boka" and makes the indicators flash on and off. I'm sure it has a proper name, but to me it's the boka.

the boka, they call it a relay most of the time.. it flashes slower when it has more load on it. ie if u blow a bulb ur boka goes bokabokaboka really fast coz there is less resistance, if u put more bulbs in, ur boka goes b-o-k-a b-o-k-a b-o-k-a. basically if its goin boka bananas u should check ur indicators, in every instance ive come across its a bulb not flashing, sometimes just a dodgy contact

oh one other thing, with the alternator, just check all ur connections are good, the battery light on dads crappy falcoon comes on sometimes coz somethin always comes loose and u lose contact, but yeah cant see swappin an alternator particularly difficult
