ae86 suspension help Wed, 07 September 2005 14:36 Go to next message
hey wondering if any one can help me.
Im looking to buy something fairly cheap cause stickin to
a budget.
Well my friends told me that i can
use mr2 shocks for the front and commodore for the rear?
and tahts on custom rate springs.
wondering if this is correct?
well if so does anyone have details
on which model mr2 exactly and commodore. (brand +part no.)
and wat about the springs? (rate?) are these going to be the same size (diameter wise )as my current springs are, considering its goin to be lowered by roughly 2inch or so.
thanks

no their not going to be the same size if their suppose to make your car lower, and the spring rates is pretty much your choice of comfort

Does anyone know the tube lenght of the sw20 shocks? ie will spacers be needed to fit it in an unmodified sprinter strut?

Yes. Maybee 30-40mm, not sure exaclty how much., This is what I'm doing in my RA65, which has nearly the same stock strut length as AE86.

i have them in my blue ae86. Cusco SW20 rear inserts. they are quite shorter and i chopped out 120mm from my strut to make them fit perfectally with no spacer.
