Cheap GPS setup Sun, 11 September 2005 04:31 Go to next message
I was wondering if any one knows what is needed for a cheap GPS setup. I have been told all you need is a PDA, GPS receiver Monitior and craked software.

Has any one done this, and if so, could you let me know if you had any problems with the set up.

Thanks,

Curtis.

Receivers can be had for around $200 these days, its just the matter of getting the software that is difficult.
Decent software can be as expensive as a complete street level gps setup.

HP sell one for $149. You can also look on EBay as there's heaps available on there (ie. a bloke at work just paid $119 for one). If you're after an even cheaper option, here's a USB version you can plug into your laptop for $62.99 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-GPS-Receiver-w-USB-inte rface-for-Laptop-Notebook-PC_W0QQitemZ5806297954QQ categoryZ34290QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

If you're looking for good software try 'Destinator' Wink
