	| Question about exhaust diameter | Mon, 12 September 2005 01:30 | | |
	| Straight forward question.
Is the size of an exhaust in regaurd to the ID or OD?

ie. if it is measured by the OD a 3" exhaust would have an external diameter of 3"

 Thanks all,
 Ashlin.

	| considering it would only make a 3mm difference, I'm not sure it matters I would assume all the pipes are made to a standard size... anyone with some verniers care to check? | |

	| Assume nothing,
All pipes are made to standard sizes, yes. But how they are used determines whether they quote I/D or O/D.

May find that say a 2 inch exhaust is the I/D measurement.

Where as the pipe size used for a front strut tube is made with a 2 inch O/D pipe.

In theroy then a 2 inch exhaust pipe should slide onto a 2 inch strut tube.

When CrUZsida replies with a measurement it will either dispell my theory or not.

 Rodger.

	| Exhaust sizes refer to OD
Checked with both 3" and 2.5"
