I bought some the other day, intending to try it. I haven't heard anything specifically bad yet... Hard to decide if it's genuinely good and half the price of the other stuff, or it's just just plain crap, without trying it for a while.

it would be VERY difficult for you to find any oil that isn't good.

except for using detergent oil in an engine that has been running non-detergent and will loosen up its sludge, or using straight 50 in cold/zero weather, you'd have to try hard to do get something bad.

Im using penrite HPR15 (rated at 15W60) in my gen 3 atm. It might be a bit too thin at operating temp as it burns off about third of a litre in 5000k's (occasional spirited driving), and 60 is a bit thick when cold... I don't think i'll be using it again.

it's 15 when cold and 60 when hot.... so it's thinner when cold than a 20W50 and thicker when hot than a 20W50...

15W60 is great for older engines.. if you are still consuming it.... eek

Elf oil is used by some of the top Motocross riders. It is great stuff!

My boss used to have a mobil sponsership for ten years. Which ment he could have any oil from their range for free. Since then he has switched to Gulf Western. He thinks its the best stuff out. I think its called comp 50. Its a multigrade. It is extremely good oil and isnt very expensinve compared to the other oils.
