The motor itself comes from:
AW11 MR2
AE92 Corolla
AE101 Corolla
I know the none of the 4agze corolla's never came out her in australia, all in japan.

no 4agze's came to australia originally as far as i beleive....all imported..
after talking to the chairman of the MR2 Club in the U.K. he said that the 4ag engine originally was designed by lotus as a project that was dumped (the original midship4 was a lotus designed 4wd sports car) apparently...
toyota saw the benifit of this engine design and took over the project.......
another thing he said was that the block is supposed to have the same measurements (bore/stroke etc.) as the sierra crosworth(spelling?) engines....

I can guarantee you that the bloc has nothing in common with a Sierra block. It is very similar to the Ford Kent motor which spawned the BDA rally motor.
