4AGE idle and cold-start problem Sat, 17 September 2005 23:31 Go to next message
First problem is on cold start it takes my 4AGE a good 20 seconds of hard cranking before it turns over.

Secondly, when cold, it idles at around 1800rpm and falls back to about 1300rpm when warm.

If I adjust the idle screw so that warm idle is around 900rpm, if I turn the ignition off and start the car again it will turn on for about 5 seconds and the idle will drop until the car dies.

Any ideas ? I am thinking cold-start injector and idle-up system im not sure how to check these or what else it could be ?

Yea standard everything. Ill have a look around some lines to see if I can find a vacuum leak thanks.

To check cold start injector should I take it out still connected to the fuel line and connect it directly to the battery terminals and spray into a bottle or something?
