Hid beam help!! Sun, 18 September 2005 09:06 Go to next message
Well I just changed my casing after I lost it in a little ding I had (as seen is the following topic: http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&t h=80799&start=0&rid=10007&S=0df826463e d08c77763c379b0b9f37b2 and Im not sure if the globe was affected by the ding but that globe gives a spread beam and the untouched one gives a very focused beam. Im quite sure its supposed to be focused, anyone know what is causing it to be spread?

check to see the globe is still held in its right place.then make sure the inside hasnt had the dust spread inside the lens from the ding.can also be low voltage etc or the light is way out of alignment.

The globe is still in its place. I have a aftermarket brand new lens could it be caus it has a shitty reflector?
So u think maybe I should switch sides and see what happens (left to right and right to left)?
Btw I just realised the globe that is giving me the shitty spread of light is the one on the other side and not the one that had the ding Confused

it was probably always shitty then, but you just didnt realise coz they both were. now you have it in with a new one so it stands out. replace it and you should be fine.

No, they used to be both focused beams. The only thing I changed was the headlight not the bulb

HID globes are only to be used with projector lenses.

Therefore the new lense is not the right 1.

What type of car is it ?

Got a set of gx81 headies and its better but still not perfect like it was before. Maybe its the way I put the sheilding back on ... I dunno.

I might have to buy a new globe ($250) Crying or Very Sad

Also, the same globe often goes out when I use high beam (when I use high beam the globe is pulled back) Anyone know why this might be happening?
