while EFI has it's benifits, it doesnt help DA1NONLY's situation.
look in the yellow pages dood, there would have to be some good old school mechanics left in Perth that would know how to tune twin carbs. they may even just need a kit put through them.

Hi,
I'm with feral on this one. Carbs are the ducks nuts on these little engines and when they're set up properly they'll be perfect. No need for EFI. You'll probably need a full gasket and jet kit, whcih will set you back a few hundred bucks.
You need to find some dude who knows these old set-ups - don;t go to anyone else 'cos they'll never get it right.
My solex for my 18RG were done about a year ago and it was $700+, but the results were amazing - it was like a new engine and it's still perfect.

The best idea would be to put a kit through but it could be as simple the needle and seat not being adjusted correctly (overfueling/underfueling).
If you know a bit about cars it isn't too difficult to put a gasket kit in it but get someone to tune it for you. Thats something you wouldn't wanna get wrong. Hope that helps.
