Have an 18rgu in a ra28 (i know the pic is a 2tg)

Now I thought the oil pump was leaking.... then decided it
was leaking fuel. So i replace all fuel lines in the engine bay
incl. filter.

Degreased all the muck, but this morning after driving to work
i find that there is an oily residue that seems to be leaking from the center of what i think is the timing chain tensioner.

What does this mean the prob is?

Tensioner? Chain? a seal on the tensioner or something?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Nathan

I should finish that one day.
Yeah the standard round edged o-ring did the trick.

ok so i assume the tensioner unsrews... i replace the o-ring...
then screw it back in.

now is there a set tension or what .... how do i re-install this
part properly...cheers.

Ive got a haynes manual but only 18rcin it and no talk of
setting timing chain tension.

Thanks all

Just do it up so that the engine sounds good. Too loose and the chain will rattle, too tight and the engine will struggle to idle.
