I replaced my rotot yesterday.
The old rotor tip was black, anyone an idea what this means, please ?

Just soot from the arcing between the rotor tip and the spark plug lead poles. Use a points file to clean it off and it should be good as new. ( Also use some emery cloth to clean where the centre coil lead, spring loaded carbon contact connects to the centre of the rotor.)

arcing on brass leaves a black residue. is normal.
