AE92 Oil Pressure a bit high

I just bought a 1990 Corolla SX, and at first the oil pressure was sitting on the next line up from the middle. after changing the Oil to 10w-40 the pressure gauge now sits a bit higher...between the line i mentioned before and next one up. At idle the pressure sits at half...but still. Any help and sugestions would be apreciated

There is an oil pressure relief valve near the oil pump that should limit the oil pressure anyway. As long as the oil pressure peaks where it is you should be OK. You'll probably find that as the oil ages and/or heats up, the max pressure will drop slightly.

like i drive it around and it just seems high...i'll take a pic of it and show u guys. My friend has a GTi model and his oil pressure is no where near as high as mine. Also we're both using the same oil...i also saw from diagram that there is a relief valve where the oil filter goes. Can this help?

The relief valve where the oil filter is is just to allow oil through the oil cooler as well as the filter.
If you have the same engine and are using the same oil it is highly likely that the one with the higher oil pressure is less worn than the one with the lower pressure. When clearances in the bearings are smaller, the oil is harder to push through so the pressure is higher. Doesn't mean the other one is worn out though, just different clearances. If your oil pressure remains above the horizontal line, even when idling, then all should be OK.
