am looking for a budget 2nd-hand MiG welder.

Am not looking for an industrial-strength unit.

am quite happy to use a GMC or equivilant appliance (use twice then discard).

Would prefer gas-MiG (dual gas/gasless would be nice tho).

Am also searching the trading post and classisfied advert - but figured i'd add to the noise.

Doesn't need to have a high duty cycle (e.g. 20-25% duty at max current) - will be used for minor alloy & steel fabrication work only.

Willing to pay around the $350-400 mark and can collect if in SeQ.

cheers and tia,
Charles.

u do realise that to weld alloy and steel successfully with the one mig it involves having 2 different gas bottles and 2 different wires. if you wanna do alloy it has to be a gas mig. also alloy is very hard to learn to do.

hi ben: yup - i know it wil be hard, and yes i know about gas and wires and wires with flux... i like a challenge Wink

gazza: gas too expensive once you start renting bottles and buying lots of gas - it also adds more heat (in my experience) than arc/mig.
