Turbo 4age 16v

What are anyones experiences with turboing this motor. (4age 16v from JDM sprinter)
I am not looking for big power just a nice responsive small turbo that will help my drifting.
I am thinking a small turbo like T25 or TD04 running around 6psi with a front mount intercooler and Wolf 3D ver 4 computer.
My mate has said he can fabricate me a custom exhaust manifold so that will also help.
Just after some ideas or thoughts others have had/heard about this modification.

Sounds like you have all you need bar a few things.
But have you considered that being a jdm rwd motor it has highish compression (9.4 give or take a few decimals) and non forged pistons. A 4agze block and head would suit your needs a bit better.
Anything on/or below 8psi, decent size intercooler and oilcooler, correct tuning and you "should" be safe for the rwd motor.
How long the motor last's depends on the amount of curry you give.
4AGZE can take alot more abuse being it has forged pistons standard from Toyota and lower compression(8.1 & 8.9 dependent on wat type of gze you aquire), $440 for a new set of pistons if i remember correctly.
This should help you.
And correct me if my numbers arent correct.
Cheers
Steve

Nah definitely get a 4agze, it has more torque and way more responsive. Plus with the 4age there is too much work needed, bigger injectors, ecu, bigger fuel pump, new clutch....list goes on. With the 4agze at least u can up the boost pressure by changing pulley wheel. Plus u dont have to worry about valve piston slap when u break the timing belt coz of the dome head. Well thats my opinion. GL

Ah okay. Thanks for the replies. So I may need injectors then? The car already has upgraded fuel pump and I have a new excedy clutch coming from japan due in 3 days (hopefully!) I don't want to go 4agze just yet. I'll wait till this motor lets go. I thought that the 4age will be pretty responsive due to its high compression! And oh yeah, an oil cooler also would be a good idea thanks.

and why dont u swap engines now while the engine is still singing her tune, ur gonna get better money that way and could virtually cancel the cost of the gze depending on how gooder deals u get...just a thought

Yeah true. Thats a good idea. I really want as little downtime as possible at the moment though. I just want the thing running hard out on the track. I believe with a good tune the engine will be able to withstand the low/moderate boost I will be running through it at the moment. How much would I get for my motor?!

what motor is it?
i was gonna buy a 4agze for 1200 USD, comes out at about 1700 aussie, delivered to port. he would do a red top for 800 USD, but he is very cheap from what i can find, and u could sell a good 4age for bout a grand with all loom and stuff, whuich u would coz of the gze comein with the right one, no after market crap needed and in the future u can go twin charged for optimum performance and responsiveness
its my ultimate aim plz daddy plz
