Hi Andrew,

Many of us Celica owners have been wondering what the gearbox code for the much-desired MR2 Turbo LSD gearbox is, but nobody has been able to get a straight answer. Could I ask a big favor and ask you check the gearbox code on the plate (assuming it has one) for us? That way we can finally have a definitive answer! Would be much appreciated.

Best of luck with the sale, although I don't imagine you'd have much trouble selling most of that stuff!

Matt

sw20 turbo gearbox code E153.. the axle code that follows differs, dependant on several things, factory lsd etc etc etc.

No worries Andrew. And thanks Totenkopf for the reply - now I guess we have to find out which axle code the means LSD!

735 and 738 are LSD. 734 (and possibly others?) is open diff. Seller said this car was fitted with an aftermarket diff, so the code on the plate is irrelevant.

Well that answers that then! Thanks for the info Totenkopf! (Sorry Andrew for jacking your thread here.)

So did the S54 ever come with LSD or did they just throw the E153 in Celicas that came factory LSD equipped?

Derek I doubt it would fit at the turbo model's exhaust manifold is quite different (understandably).

Should be pretty easy to confirm just search google for aftermarket exhaust system for MR2 and if it says fits NA and Turbo then it has to be the same.

Nathan

btw "jasma" isn't a brand its a japanese regulation or standard... kind of like Australian Standards etc.
Any aftermarket exhaust is stamped JASMA to confirm it meets the standards.
