Hey Guys,
I'm having a bit of trouble finding the engine number in my SW20.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

It's above the exhaust manifold. In the GT4 it's hidden by the exhaust heat shield, not sure if your MR2 has a heat shield which might be hiding it as well.

you'll need to lean over the engine and have a little mirror to see it.. its quite a pain

All the 3S engine numbers I have seen (which is many) are stamped on the rear end of the block at the very top of the block (just above your gearbox).
But then these MR mounting methods are strange to me so the guys above could well be describing the same location.

yup - definantly above gearbox..bit hard to see ion a Gt4 without a torch
