As above how long is the cable that goes from the commander to the computer?
Is there an extension I can get?
My computer location is in the boot and the cable would have to be about 2.5-3 metres long to reach the cabin.
It's a 9 Pin cable isn't it? Mate Dick Smith Electronics or Jaycar will be able to sell you an extention lead, just make sure you get the right gender at each end. Also be wary of making the cable too long as the data might start to become corrupt...
*edit* I'm seeing numbers bandied aruond the net that max cable length is like 150m, so you won't have to worry.*
Also if it is just a standard 9 pin cable stuff the Apexi one and get the Dick Smith 2m extension for $13.95.....if it doesn't work, just take it back they have a 14 day money back guarantee thing(I used to to work there). Just go up to Hornsby tomorrow and try it out....Or Jaycar, whichever
