Need help with insurance claim. PLEASE

As many as you know my 4agze ke30 corolla was written off this week. I was legally parked at the time and hit by someone that had lost control of their car while mucking around. Thus making him in the wrong. The thing that worries me is while my car is registered, it is not probably registered with that motor.
I have been told by multi sources that insurance companys dont usually pop bonnets unless something looks out of place. So I have taken steps to remove my mags, stero and intercooler.
However, in the event that they do open my bonnett, does anyone know what will happen. The way i see it while it is a defectable car, it is still registered. Also as the car was parked the motor had nothing to do with the accidient. Plus I also figure whether or not it was a motor vehicle accident, my damage should be still classed as third party property.
I know a few of you might have been in this sought of sitituation before and could help me out.
Thanks

First question: Why aren't you claiming of the other bloke's insurance? Second Question: Why didn't you tell your insurer about the 'swap? (I assume here that, if it's registered, it's also certified?)
My guess is that, if they lift the bonnet and see an engine that the car doesn't have (according to their records) they'll see it as justification for refusing your claim...Sorry about the bad news. (I've heard of people having claims knocked back on the grounds that the car was badged differently from what the make/model should have been...)

Let's say your unregistered car was sitting on your property and it got smashed into, you can definitely claim. But hmm if your car is unregistered and it was parked on the road when it shouldnt have, i guess that the other insurance company can say that it should not have been on the road in the first place !
Hard call bro, try make your car look discreet ok ! Take of the rims etc is a good idea.
Good luck

Its a hard call dude but remember not all insurance acessors are car dumb, so to speak. I have a friend who works in this industry. He knows what to look for and all the tricks. He is paid so the insurance company don't have to, if you know what I mean. Good luck mate, I hope this all works out.
