Howdy,
I have recently purchased a T04 turbo with t3 exhaust flange, .60 inlet, .84 exhaust. What size Waste gate would I be looking at getting to run 30 pounds through? (42mm, 45mm???)

the only one to use for 30psi is external! you have nothing but trouble at 30psi in most cases with an internal one.

Yeah he is chasing an external one, just not sure how many MM one to purchase. Seems lots of 32mm ones around for sale second hand, but would this be large enough for 30psi, or require a larger 40+ mm one?
Cheers

small external wastegates are fine for heaps of boost.
in fact if you want insane boost just neglect to have one at all !!
the larger wastegate sizes give better boost control. i would go as large as you can afford / find. ( up to a point of course)
The larger the engine/HP of the application means more exhaust airflow that needs to be metered to maintian a certain boost pressure. So a larger gate can bypass and control that better.
