i think what everyone is trying to say is that there is no benefit from putting a blow off valve on a 4agze. They have a magnetic clutch which disengages when the throttle is shut unlike a turbo that keeps spinning.
if you want the psssht sound buy a wrx or a skyline

I thought the clutch stays engaged on gear changes and when lifting off the throttle for short periods of time ie ~5 seconds. Reasons for not using a bov on the gz has more to do with the throttle being pre-sc, so when the throttle is snapped shut a vacuum exists in the inlet piping etc, been discussed many times on here.

well thats not exactly correct either. the reason why a BOV is of no use on a 4agze is that the s/c is in a vacum as it's placed after the TB, so there is no pressure to bleed off when the throttle is closed like on a turbo set-up. so a BOV will suck air in when the TB is closed on a 4agze.
the s/c doesnt disengage directly when the TB is closed either, the ECU actualy leaves it on a little after the TB is first closed.
