Just let the professionals do it. And save more then your back if you drop it the wrong way. Then just stand back and watch how it's done.

we have italian next door neighbors who stay in the house about 1 every 6 months... last time he was up he started choping down this medium/bigish tree and he had it all tied down properly...
he must have for got about 1 branch as you here the chain sawing then a loud CRASH and a large branch falls on his neighbors tin shed in the back yard
get it done properly, at least its their fault if anything happens

Yeah I agree.
I worked doing tree surgery and the like a while back and its not easy to do if you dont have the right shit to do it...especially when houses and other inanimate objects are close by.
Thats not to bad a price considering disposal of old tree and all the insurance issues that the companies have to cover..
Do it.

You mean an Italian had a tree OMG. Just wait for some samoans to come around and offer to cut down your trees for like 300 dollars lol.
We have had a few trees cut down, the biggest being a Nicoli Gum tree probably 30+m tall and very wide, this was befor stricker council regs came in adn cost around 650 dollars to be cut down by a professional.

3 huge trees over 5g's - made a fun show though and 2 days of entertainment.

IN my experience, it is best left to the pros. They chip it and take it away as well - apart from safety and many hours on your part (risk of damage to property), you then have to get rid of teh stuff, which will cost you heaps in just transporting it to the dump.
