changing celica ball joints Sat, 01 October 2005 08:02 Go to next message
I am after some advice/tips for changing the ball joints on a TA22 Celica.

What is the best way of separating the steering knuckes?

Is there an easy way to get the joints out of the arm? I have access to a press.

If you have access to a press I would suggest loosing the lower strut/steering arm bolts, then removing the tie rod from the steering arm (using a tie rod end puller) and then removing the lower control arm.

Then simply press off the steering arm, remove the C clips on the ball joints, press them out and replace the new ones.

Smile

Cheers
