The kit works well. I used one many years ago when I still had a points ignition.

Had a look at a different thread but didn't answer the easy question I have. Can you use this on an ignition system that has no distributor so it is a multi coil setup?

no - only input is from the dizzi (be it points, or hall effect or...) and it can only drive one coil.
if you want waste-spark or CoP, then you need crank-trigger (and Cam sensor if CoP).
With MS-n-S, you could adapt a Toyota 24tooth dizzi to be a crank trigger (12-2 wheel) and drive 3 coil packs. But you'd be a pioneer.
If the wolf does waste-spark - use it to reduce complexity.

Thanks Charles. Wolf does waste spark. I was unsure if this HEI was similar to a CDI unit but looks like it isn’t

the HEi is actually an ignitor with different inputs
it can be used (vaguely) with reluctor dizzies, easily with hall efffect (5V switch) or points (12V switch), and CAN be used with aftermarket ECU's (i had it triggering from MS2's 5V output)
you can use the circuit to drive the coils as a (sometimes) cheaper alternative to ignitors..

Ive heard it mentioned several places, maybe its only with the programable ignition kit, which jaycar doesnt seem to supply anymore

stay tuned... next year a PIC microcontroller based new version of the electronic ignition kit and a FULLY PROGRAMMABLE option will be available!!!
Im talking ignition timing programmable on RPM vs MAP!!

Does this boost spark or just control it?

Chris - this shouldnt matter to you, because your Wolf3D already does what the above is supposed to.
This kit does enhance the spark, but not massively when compared to a modern day electronic ignition system.
You'd have to read the article (which doesnt come out until Dec or Jan) to fully understand

Thanks mate. I was just checking if this was going to be a similar product to a HKS DLI or CDI type thing.
