yar i knwo i know....

for a mate, looking for a running reasonable condition ford laser motor, assume it is early Ksomething series.. KA? KF?, to replace one with dead bearings..

anything lying around?
shortblock is fine too... no accessories needed.

What year and capacity is it??

pre-85 was KA-KB, 1.5L
85-87 was KC, 1.3-1.6L
87-90 was KE, 1.6L
90-92 was KF, 1.6-1.8L

best bet is to rip the crank out and re-bearing the one you have, as most are on their way out at this point in time.

Thanks Owen, i've got him on the case to find out what the car actually is Wink
he's not too mechanically minded so it's a bit tough...

yar, for them it's a toss up between dumping the car and gettign a cheap motor... if i was in Oz, i probably would just chuck new bearings in and see how long it lasted...

Where abouts are they located... sumone on the forums might be able to re-bearing the motor for them for cheap. I kno i do that sorta thing to help me thru uni all the time.
