OK, so i took the aerial off the car and welded up the holes before it was resprayed. So my question is-is there an aerial availabe that will sit under your dash, or some other part of the inside of the car?? I dont wanna put one on the window ( i dont think i can either!), and i thought there may be one you could buy like the small round ones you get for TV's to replace the rabbit ears..
HELP please!!

Is there any particular reason you dont want the one that go on the inside of the window?
But, yes, there should be somthing that will answer your needs.
One idea is sinilar to what some car alarms use, in that the antena is a piece of wire that you run up the inside of the A piller trim. You may be able to stash a rubber duckie antenna, or even a full normal antenna in the A piller trim of your car.
Reception may suffer tho...
apart from that i have seen a small antenna that would suit, but it was custom built by a friend whos an RF engineer. Still, the old coat hanger can do wonders...

The best way to go is get one of those "Helical wound fibreglass antennas" from DickSmith and fit it inside the roof! You'll be surprised at how good this will work!
Infact this antenna will work better in the roof than the standard antenna will on the guard!

Yeah man, I did the exact same thing. It's one of those do now, worry about it later things.
After a while of putting up with no traffic reports etc, I ended up wiring up this little almost rotor shaped flat little antenna thing and fed it up above the roof lining & stuck it to the roof.
The reception is heaps good now, just as good as when I had the standard external one.
I'm pretty sure you can get these things in dickies or tandy, just make sure it says it's for AM & FM as well as uhf & all that & it should work fine.

An extra good aerial you can make yourself is to cut the old aerial off the end of the coax plugged into your stereo, connect a length of very thin fusewire to the centre conductor and supaglue to the inside of windsceen. Works well on AM and FM.
